Hi guysSorry i am a newby here just my first post, dont know if its in correct thread.I have a Phillips 42PF5521D/10 model also.somehow my HDMI ports stopped working, and also my TV sometimes. When i press the power button, i hear 2 clicks and the green light starts flashing but no screen picture. So for the No screen picture issue i managed to resolve it. Everynight when i stop watching tv, i just disconnect the POWER CABLE from the mains. And next day when i want to watch it again just plug back power cable again and it power up fine. But recently the HDMI ports stopped working. Just says NO HDMI INPUT SIGNAL.
This happens with all devices.PS3, HD DVD, HD SET TOP BOX from my TV PROVIDER.Anyway of fixing the HDMI ports on the board? What sort of components busted could lead to this problem?thxs in advance for your replies guys.cheers. Hi,I also have this model with the same problem of the blinking green lights, clicking relays, but no power up.I have removed the power card and it is identical to the one in the picture linked to above (3104 328 42742) and confirmed by a label. However, I don't appear to have capacitors numbered 2508, 2540, 2541 & 2465.As a total newbie to this, I can see what appear to be capacitors with the following numbers: 2292, 2294, 2022, 2225, 2269, 2261, 2229, 2230, 2510, 2505, 2052, 2664 & 2662, as well as 2113 mentioned in the previous post along with the 4 above. Can anyone shed any light on this as I am almost at the point of junking the TV.
Hello. So, I'm having trouble getting rid of overscan (in 720p) on my Philips LCD set. My TV's model number is 40PFL7505D/F7 and source is HDMI. It's a native 1080p but my problems lies in 720p. The TV also has HDTV mode and PC mode.HDTV mode:In 1080p the format options are Automatic (which causes 5% overscan), 4:3, Widescreen (which causes 5% overscan) and Unscaled (1:1 pixel mapping/no overscan). In 720p the format options are Automatic (which causes 5% overscan), 4:3, and Widescreen (which causes 5% overscan).PC mode:In 1920x1080 the format options are 4:3, Widescreen (1:1 pixel mapping/no overscan), and Unscaled (1:1 pixel mapping/no overscan). In 1280x720 the format options are 4:3, Widescreen (upscaled with no overscan), and Unscaled (small rectangle in the middle of the screen).See the difference? It seems as if the only way I can an image (in HDTV mode) without overscan is to use 1080p.

I'm using my PS3, which downscales from 1080p to 720p in 95% of PS3 games. I'd have no problem switching to PC mode if it didn't disable all the video enhancement features and produce a drastically inferior picture.I tried accessing the service menu, but all I get is this:I've looked at several youtube videos and pictures, but my service menu looks nothing like the ones I come across. Maybe my TV has different codes? I don't know, as there is little information I can find on this TV.Can somebody please help me?Thanks. I already know about the native resolution of PS3 games. That's not the problem. The problem is I'm forced to use 720p on my 1080p TV when playing PS3, which causes overscan.
The native resolution is irrelevant, as most Xbox 360 games are native 720p as well, but the Xbox 360 allows you to upscale every single game to 1080p and the PS3 doesn't. If I could get rid of the automatic overscan in 720p, I wouldn't have any issues with my PS3.
It seems as if using 1080p is the only way to get 1:1 pixel mapping in HDTV mode. I've looked at youtube videos, google images, ect. And when I enter the service menu code, I get that funky-looking thing in the OP. It seems that my service menu doesn't even look like a 'menu'.
